SVU INFORMATION

Select the heading below to expand the section and find out more information about Calibre SCTP Business Package Insurance on SVU:

Following on from feedback received and as part of the work in developing our SVU approach, we have significantly increased our risk appetite in a number of areas including but not limited to:

Sub-contractors

Increased limits for percentage of payments to contractors / sub-contractors.

Importing

We have increased our appetite to provide cover for most goods imported other than specified items as defined in our question on liability – which is triggered if the importing of goods question is answered ‘yes’. We currently have no referrals on importing.

Underground work

Increased depth limit as per our question on liability for applicable occupations.

Welding away

Increased percentage of welding away.

Hire of equipment

Now only excluding specific items as defined in our question that triggers if the Hire Out question on liability is answered ‘Yes’.

Note that a majority of these improvements have been built in as automatic with no referral triggered ensuring that the process is as seamless and straightforward as possible.

As you know there are variations in the approach that different insurers take.

We highlight below a few areas to be mindful of in regard to processing Calibre Insurance Business Package on SVU to help you get the best possible outcome from Calibre Insurance in terms of acceptance and pricing:

Importing vs manufacturing

Any risk that imports goods but does not actually conduct manufacturing, should be quoted under the appropriate occupation that reflects what the business actually does ie Retailer / Wholesaler. You then simply answer ‘yes’ to the importing question on liability.

Property Owner risks – multiple tenants require individual listing

A ‘tenant business’ occupation needs to be entered for each and every separate tenant. The hard coded reference on SVU to “must represent most hazardous tenant” does not apply to Calibre Insurance. Please refer to the help button on this section in SVU which notes the following:

For Calibre Insurance each and every separate tenant to be listed. For example if a building has 2 accounting firms and 2 apartments, then 4 tenants business must be entered with 2 as Accountants and 2 as apartments.

Default Answers

We recommend that you check all default answers on SVU prior to submitting any quote with Calibre Insurance as they may have an impact on the acceptance and pricing that is provided.

Winbeat users

We are experiencing some cases where the premium values from SVU are not included correctly in the invoice generated from Winbeat. Please note the following when an SVU policy is copied into Winbeat. You will need to copy and paste all the premium value fields (except GST, underwriter Fee Tax and Commission GST which are calculated automatically).

Read the attached flyer for instructions on what you need to do when an SVU policy is copied to Winbeat to ensure that the invoice prints all the values correctly.

We have done a lot of work on removing or reducing a large portion of restricting endorsements including upgrades to our Steadfast First Option Business Insurance policy last year.

claims-endorsements

In some circumstances endorsements may increase cover, rather than restrict cover.
